HANDS ON ASSIST TRAINING SERIES WITH LIZ GUARDIA
Thursdays | 6:00–8:00 PM
6/18 • 7/9 • 7/30 • 8/20
Join Liz Guardia-Liberatore for this 4-part training series designed for yoga teachers seeking to deepen their understanding of hands-on assisting as a precise, ethical, and embodied practice. Rooted in respect for the intelligence of the body and the lineage of yogāsana, this training explores when, why, and how to assist — always in service of the student’s own experience.
The spacing between sessions allows participants time to integrate what they learn into both their personal practice and teaching between workshops — often the most effective way to deepen understanding and refine skill over time.
Series Breakdown
Part 1: Foundational Asana Structures + The Art of Assisting
Part 2: Sūrya Namaskār + Standing & Separate-Leg Postures
Part 3: Forward Folding + Backward Bending
Part 4: Standing Balances + Floor Postures
Across the series, participants will study the structure of asanas through the lens of anatomy and the intended asana sthiti (“state of the asana”). Once this foundation is established, trainees will learn appropriate cues and assists chosen based on breath, energy, and observation. Participants will learn to guide students with clarity, confidence, and care.
What You Will Learn
• Offer effective, supportive, and ethical hands-on assists
• Use verbal cueing as the primary tool, with touch as refinement rather than correction
• Assist safely and skillfully — and know when not to assist
• Develop confidence through hands-on practice, feedback, and observation
• Read the body to understand appropriate direction, depth, and timing
• Refine the power of touch — direction, duration, and intensity all matter
• Work with breath and subtle energy when assisting
• Ask clear questions and receive feedback on assisting choices
Investment
Participants are encouraged to attend the full series, as each session builds upon the last and the spacing between workshops allows time to integrate the material into both personal practice and teaching.
Full 4-Part Series: $299
Single Session Drop-In: $85
Space is limited to allow for an intentional and hands-on learning environment.
